Impure Soul

Short film created with the stop motion technique as a final project of the Visual Communication II subject in the last year of the institute (6th) 2014. Using different materials to create the scenery, it took me a day to build it. Basically, the stage where the events occur is made of Styrofoam and the bricks are carved into the latter. The grass is composed of sawdust mixed with green dye, most of the elements that accompany the scene are made of colored plasticine, cold porcelain, burlap, sticks, ropes, wire, cotton, and oregano. The objects are also painted with acrylics like the bricks on the wall.

“Impure Soul” is about an individual who finds himself camping in a cursed place, that is, a place where strange things happen. This individual did not pay attention to what was said about the place and decided to break the rules. After strange things happen around the camp, the individual suffers terrible pain from which he ends up falling dead to the ground. Time passes quickly, the grass covers the body and then those creatures responsible for his tragic death appear on the scene. The type of worm that leaves the place is the soul of the individual (which is cursed) and that “Death” uses it for its own benefit, thus giving it “human” vision. Then “Death” disappears from the place along with his henchmen, and nothing more is known about the individual.

Alma Impura

Cortometraje creado con la técnica stop motion como proyecto final de la materia Comunicación Visual II en el último año del instituto (6to) 2014. Utilizando diferentes materiales para crear la escenografía, me tomó un día construirla. Básicamente el escenario donde ocurren los sucesos está compuesto por telgopor y los ladrillos están tallados en este último. El pasto está compuesto con aserrín mezclado con colorante verde, la mayoría de los elementos que acompañan la escena están hechos de plastilina de color, porcelana fría, arpillera, palitos, cuerdas, alambre, algodón y orégano. Los objetos también están pintados con acrílicos al igual que los ladrillos de la pared.

“Alma Impura” trata sobre un individuo que se encuentra acampando en un lugar maldito, es decir, un lugar donde suceden cosas extrañas. Este individuo no le hizo caso a lo que se decía del lugar y decidió romper las reglas. Después de que pasaran cosas raras en los alrededores del campamento, el individuo sufre un terrible dolor por el cuál termina cayendo muerto al suelo. El tiempo pasa rápidamente, el pasto cubre el cuerpo y aparecen en escena los causantes de su trágica muerte. La especie de gusano que sale del lugar es el alma del individuo (que está maldito) y que la “Muerte” lo utiliza para beneficio propio, dándole así la visión “humana”. Luego la “Muerte” desaparece del lugar junto con sus secuaces, y no se sabe nada más del individuo.
